Köln: Night One

Thursday: We got on a train in the morning and headed toward Cologne for the second time. Our intention was to attend the Karneval on Sunday. It is a region-wide party. It is kind of like a bigger Halloween party. We got into town in the afternoon and met up with Mira. We got something to eat and walked around a bit. Daniel was coming back from France and had a stop in Cologne, so we met up with him at the train station while he waited for his next train. When we were seeing Daniel off to Göttingen Mira's father showed up.

After that we went to a local traditional beer hall kind of thing called the Brauhaus (if I am spelling that right,) it means brew house . We had several beers there, we weren't hungry, but Mira's Father had something to eat. After that we went down to a part of the city called the Old Town. We found a nice bar near to the Rhine and got a 'meter' of beer. A meter of beer is this:

This is a picture from the following night. I'll put up a few more photos when I can get them from Mira. I didn't have my camera with me.

So we drank more and more beer, got pretty hammered. Mira's Dad is a great guy. We had a lot of fun. -Eric
